World Photography League Awards Help
FAQ
Answers about your account, annual membership, extra photo packs, entries and league results.
01 What is World Photography League Awards?
World Photography League Awards is an international platform for photographic art and competition, founded by Mehdi Nazeri. It brings active photographers from around the world together to share their vision, compete in scheduled events and discover outstanding work. It aims to be a reference point for this global community, connecting artistic expression with recognition and a continuing record of achievement.
02 What is the difference between a league year and an event?
A league year contains a programme of individual events. Each event has its own submission and judging dates. Your annual membership has its own validity period, shown in Membership. Only one event is intended to be open for submissions at a time.
03 How do I create an account?
Use the registration form with your email address. Google sign-in is an additional option when it is enabled on the login page; it does not replace email registration.
04 Can I participate for free?
Yes. Free access uses the event allowance set by the administrator. Check your dashboard for the current allowance and the open event. You do not need to buy a paid plan simply to keep your account.
05 What do Free, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond memberships include?
The five account levels provide different submission allowances for each event. The Membership page lists the current prices and per-event allowances. Membership level is separate from photographer awards and ranking distinctions.
06 How long does my membership last?
Check the expiry date in Membership. The validity period belongs to your account and is separate from an event deadline. Review the renewal or upgrade details before confirming an order.
07 What happens when my membership expires?
Your account, profile, existing entries and results are not deleted. Submission access returns to the configured free allowance. Entries already submitted still count towards usage in the same event, so you may have no remaining free slots there.
08 Can I upgrade from Silver to Gold?
Yes, when the higher plan is available. The upgrade quote accounts for the price difference and remaining membership time. An upgrade keeps the existing expiry date and does not reset event usage; check the quoted amount before payment.
09 Does renewing extend my membership?
Renewing an active plan adds its configured term after the existing expiry date. A new term for an expired account starts when payment is confirmed. A lower level can be selected after the current paid term expires.
10 How many entries can I submit in each event?
Your current plan supplies a base allowance and purchased extra packs add slots for that event. Already recorded entries are deducted from that total. Check the dashboard counter rather than assuming a fixed number from the name of a plan.
11 What are extra photo packs?
Extra packs add the displayed number of submission slots to the current event. Available packs appear as cards in your dashboard. They do not upgrade your membership or extend its expiry date.
12 Can I use an extra pack in another event?
No. An extra pack belongs to the event named on the order. Unused slots do not transfer to another event or league year, and a pack does not allow submissions after the event closes.
13 When does a purchase become active?
Membership and extra slots activate after payment is verified. Opening checkout, creating an invoice or returning to the dashboard does not by itself confirm payment. Check the invoice and allowance before trying another purchase.
14 My payment succeeded but my allowance did not change. What should I do?
Refresh the dashboard and review the invoice status. If access is still incorrect, contact support with the invoice reference and event name. Avoid paying again while the first payment is being checked, and never send your password or full card details.
15 How do I submit my photos?
Open Submit Photo from your dashboard, complete the current event form, choose the category, add the title and requested details, then upload and submit. Afterwards, check My Entries. Purchasing access alone does not submit any photos.
16 Can I submit a single photo or a series?
Use the entry types enabled for the current event. If a series is offered, follow its image-count, title, statement, caption and ordering requirements. A series is a grouped entry; check the form and allowance counter rather than treating every supporting image as a separate entry.
17 Which file format and size should I use?
Follow the accepted formats, file-size and dimension limits displayed in the submission form. These settings can vary by event. Review image orientation and the uploaded preview, and retain the original files for any verification request.
18 Can I replace an uploaded photo or edit its details?
You can edit an entry while it is still in submitted status and the competition remains open for editing. Once it is locked for review or judging, those changes are no longer available. Contact support if a correction is needed on a locked entry.
19 Can I enter an older, previously awarded or AI-generated image?
Check the current event requirements for creation dates, previous awards, repeat submissions, editing and AI-generated content. Do not assume that permission in another competition applies to this event. Ask the organiser if the announcement does not make eligibility clear.
20 How can I confirm my entry was received?
Look for the entry in My Entries and check its status. A payment receipt is evidence of an order, not evidence that a photo was submitted. Contact support if the upload appeared complete but no entry is recorded.
21 Does a higher membership improve my judging score?
No. Membership and extra packs control submission access. Judges assess the work under the event criteria; buying more slots does not buy points, an award or a higher ranking.
22 How are league points awarded?
The organiser sets points for first place, second place, third place, Honorable Mention and Acceptance, along with the applicable scoring settings. Jury scores and league points serve different purposes. See the published results and standings for the outcome; no fixed point values are promised on this page.
23 Which rankings can I view?
You can view season photographers, season photos, event photographers and all-time photographers. Choose the appropriate year and event. Use the country filter to compare participants within one country; that position may differ from the worldwide rank.
24 Where will accepted and awarded work appear?
After results are published, selected work appears in the league results gallery and photographer profiles. Submitting an entry or receiving validation does not mean it has already been published or awarded.
25 How do I receive a certificate or an interview invitation?
Eligible certificates appear when the organiser issues them. Interview invitations are sent to selected users through their dashboard, with email notification where available. The interview form can request answers, a portrait and portfolio images for review.
26 Will my work appear in a league magazine?
The editorial team selects work for league magazines. Published editions are listed in the Magazines section. Membership, acceptance or an interview invitation does not automatically guarantee inclusion or a printed copy.
27 Do I keep the copyright to my photos?
Yes. You remain the copyright holder. Read the publication terms presented at submission for permitted gallery and editorial use, and make sure you have the permissions needed to submit your work.
28 Where can I find deadlines or request help?
The current event announcement provides submission and judging dates; use its stated time zone. For questions about eligibility, corrections, payments or refunds, use the Contact page with the relevant entry or invoice reference.
